In a recent development, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has announced his support for a group of students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) who stood up against pro-Palestinian protesters on their campus.

The senator expressed his admiration for the young men's courage and patriotism in a post on the social media platform X.

"I'm so proud of the courageous young men at @UNC that protected our flag and stood up for America against the pro-Hamas protesters on their campus," Graham stated. He continued, "The actions of these young men make me hopeful for the next generation's love for our country."

As a token of appreciation, Graham sent Chick-fil-A meals to the students, courtesy of Team Graham. The recipients were members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity who had prevented an American flag from touching the ground during a protest on the UNC campus. The fraternity members' actions, captured in viral videos, led to a GoFundMe campaign titled "UNC Frat Bros Defended their Flag. Throw 'em a Rager," which has since raised over $500,000.

Country music artist John Rich has also expressed his support for the fraternity members. "I reached out and I said, 'Boys, I sure am proud of you. When you have that big rager you guys are talking about on GoFundMe, I'd like to show up and play you a free concert,'" Rich said on NewsNation's "On Balance" with host Leland Vittert.

Columbia University protest leaders issued a statement last month, expressing their frustration with media coverage. "We are frustrated by media distractions focusing on inflammatory individuals who do not represent us," they said. "We firmly reject any form of hate or bigotry and stand vigilant against non-students attempting to disrupt the solidarity being forged among students." They emphasized the diverse backgrounds of their members, including Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, Jewish, Black, and pro-Palestinian classmates and colleagues.
