Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympic gold medalist and transgender activist, has publicly criticized Don Lemon, the former CNN host, labeling him as 'privileged, wealthy, and entitled."

This came after Lemon's recent appearance on 'Real Time with Bill Maher,' which sparked a wave of social media reactions.

On the show, Lemon was joined by Scott Galloway, a professor of marketing at the NYU Stern School of Business. The conversation primarily revolved around the ongoing college campus protests across the United States, comparing contemporary activists with those from previous generations.

During the discussion, Lemon stated, "I'm different than you guys. I'm a black gay man, so I live in uncomfortable spaces all the time." Maher, seemingly puzzled, asked for clarification, to which Lemon responded, "I am often the only person of color in the room." Maher's retort, "There's only three of us," was met with applause from the audience.

Following the broadcast, Jenner took to Twitter to express her disapproval of Lemon's comments. "Good on you Bill Maher. Don is a privileged, wealthy, (not to mention entitled ie. Demands to X and CNN in alleged contract terms), celebrity. Get over yourself," she tweeted.

In 2017, Jenner had been a guest on Lemon's CNN show, where she stated that she did not regret voting for Trump despite his administration's controversial stance on LGBT rights.

Earlier this month, Lemon married his longtime partner, Tim Malone, in a star-studded ceremony in New York City. The wedding took place five years after their engagement and coincided with Malone's birthday. Notable attendees included disgraced broadcaster Matt Lauer, former CNN boss Jeff Zucker, and actor Alec Baldwin.

Lemon, who publicly came out as gay in his 2011 memoir 'Transparent,' shared his joy with CNN viewers, saying, "I grew up thinking that I would never be able to be public with my relationships, let alone ever get legally married. So for me, this is doubly thrilling and just a wee bit terrifying. Guess I have to start thinking about children. Talk about a late bloomer."

However, Lemon's career has been marred by controversy. He was fired from CNN in April 2023 amid allegations of 'sexist' and 'misogynistic' behavior, which reportedly caused tension in his relationship with Malone. More recently, his new show was abruptly canceled by Elon Musk's company, which had entered into a deal with the former anchor. Musk explained the decision, stating that Lemon's show was 'basically just CNN, but on social media'.

Lemon criticized the cancellation as an infringement on his freedom of speech, to which Musk responded that Lemon is still free to share his show on the platform without censorship, but 'we reserve the right to make decisions about our business partnerships.' The exact reason for Musk's decision remains unclear, though journalist Kara Swisher suggested that Musk took offense to 'questions about his ketamine use.'
