In a bizarre incident, a 26-year-old man was apprehended by the Memphis Police Department in Tennessee for allegedly attempting to rob a Shell convenience store using a snake as a threat, as reported on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Reginald Cook, is said to have entered the store located at 3599 Elvis Presley Boulevard around 2 a.m., insinuating possession of a weapon, as per the report by 4 WSMV. When the store clerk denied Cook's demand for money, Cook reportedly left, only to return with the same demand. The report further states that Cook made a third appearance around 3:05 a.m., this time with a 5-foot snake draped around his neck.

Despite the intimidating presence of the snake, the clerk stood his ground and refused to hand over any money. The situation escalated when Cook appeared to be reaching into his backpack, possibly for a firearm. This prompted the clerk to draw his own gun and dial 911. The report confirms that no money was stolen and no injuries were reported.
