On her Sirius XM program, "The Megyn Kelly Show," former attorney Megyn Kelly criticized Columbia Law School students who called for the cancellation of their exams due to anti-Israel protests.

The students, who are editors at the Columbia Law Review, claimed that they were "irrevocably shaken" by the New York City Police Department's (NYPD) actions in dismantling protest encampments, as reported by the New York Post.

Kelly, in her response, advised these law students to consider a different career path if they were unable to cope with the confrontations between the NYPD and the student protesters. She stated, "Columbia students, right now, law students, pushing to cancel all exams. Student editors at the Columbia Law Review are urging the law school to cancel tests or at least make all courses pass/fail. Highlights from their statement: ‘We urge the law school to cancel exams and give all students passing grades. The violence we witnessed last night have irrevocably shaken many of us, left us and many of our peers unable to focus and highly emotional during this tumultuous time.’ I’ve got news for you. The law is not for you."

Kelly continued her critique, suggesting that these students might be better suited to less stressful professions, such as gardening. She emphasized that the legal profession often involves dealing with highly stressful and emotionally charged situations, such as criminal cases involving murderers and child molesters, white-collar fraud cases, and civil litigation cases. She stated, "If you cannot function because you’re a little stressed out, you’re going to be a poor lawyer. Find a different job. It’s not about canceling your exam."

Kelly further agreed that the law students at Columbia University who were demanding exemption from exams were "not well." She described their attempt to avoid testing as "so pathetic."

This controversy comes in the wake of Columbia University's decision to cancel its main commencement ceremony following weeks of pro-Palestine protests and encampments on campus.
