In a statement made on Monday, Trump advocated for states to have autonomy in legislating abortion, prompting Graham to express his dissent by stating, “I respectfully disagree with President Trump’s statement that abortion is a states’ rights issue.” Trump, in response, took to Truth Social to assert that Graham's position could pave the way for Democratic triumphs in elections.

Trump criticized Graham, declaring, “Senator Lindsey Graham is doing a great disservice to the Republican Party, and to our Country.” He highlighted Graham's evolving positions on abortion, emphasizing the potential advantage the Radical Left Democrats could gain from such stances.

While Trump hailed the overturning of Roe v. Wade as a significant achievement, he acknowledged the challenges it brought, attributing electoral losses of some Republicans to the abortion issue. Trump warned that unwavering figures like Graham could be instrumental in Democrats securing control of the House, Senate, and even the Presidency.

In response to Trump's remarks, Graham emphasized, “Dobbs does not require that conclusion legally and the pro-life movement has always been about the wellbeing of the unborn child – not geography.” This statement came amidst criticism from some pro-life leaders and expressions of disappointment from others, who aim to enlighten Trump should he secure reelection.
