In a grim development in rural Oklahoma, authorities have discovered two bodies, following the arrest of four individuals on murder charges related to the disappearance of two women.

The women, Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, vanished last month while en route to collect Butler's children. Their vehicle was later found abandoned near Highway 95, close to the Kansas and Oklahoma borders.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Information (OSBI) confirmed the recovery of two bodies in rural Texas County on Sunday, following the arrest of four suspects in connection with the women's disappearance. The bodies have been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine the cause of death.

The search for the women began over two weeks ago, when law enforcement in Oklahoma were alerted to their disappearance. Kelley, the wife of a pastor in Hugoton, Kansas, and Butler were reportedly on their way to a birthday party with Butler's children, but they never arrived.

The OSBI announced the arrest of Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly in Texas and Cimarron counties on Saturday. The suspects face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.

From the outset, authorities suspected foul play in the women's disappearance, labeling the case as "suspicious." The women's abandoned vehicle, found in Texas County, Oklahoma, triggered an extensive search that has been ongoing since the end of March. The OSBI stated that information gleaned from the vehicle indicated evidence of foul play.
