Kevin O'Leary, renowned television personality and host of "Shark Tank," recently engaged in a heated on-air exchange with CNN anchor Laura Coates.

The dispute followed a New York judge's ruling against former President Donald Trump in a case concerning his financial assets.

O'Leary expressed his disapproval of the $464 million bond that Trump is currently contesting in court. "What a great message to send out all around the world," he remarked. Trump's legal team had previously stated in a court filing on Monday that securing such a bond was a "practical impossibility" given the prevailing circumstances.

O'Leary further argued that the case did not involve any monetary losses. "Take a claim where there was no monies lost," he said, as reported by Mediaite. "There was no fraud here in the context of actually people losing money."

Last month, a New York Appeals Court judge rejected Trump's plea to postpone the payment of the $464 million owed as a result of a lawsuit initiated by New York State Attorney General Letitia James. However, the judge did grant a temporary reprieve allowing Trump and his sons to continue managing their business during the appeal process.

The same judge had earlier ruled that the former president must post a bond equivalent to the full amount of the judgment. Additionally, an independent director of compliance would be appointed.

O'Leary's criticism of the ruling and the substantial bond for Trump led to a verbal altercation with CNN anchor Laura Coates. The two frequently interrupted each other, with Coates asserting that she would not be "talked over."

"This is not America," O'Leary commented on the judgment, leading to further exchanges with Coates. He also ridiculed the penalty imposed on Trump for a crime where, according to him, "apparently, no money was lost."

O'Leary suggested that the ruling against Trump was more fitting for a country like Venezuela. "Forget about Trump," he told viewers. "Nothing to do with Trump. Everything to do about America and the New York brand. I love this state. My children live here. A horrible message to everybody around the world watching this. Absolutely horrific."

On Monday night, Trump alleged that New York Attorney General Letitia James had committed fraud by persuading a judge to undervalue his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida amid his civil fraud case in New York. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump labeled James a "failed and disgusting" attorney general who significantly undervalued his Florida property.
