Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken legal action against Aylo Global, the entity behind Pornhub, for allegedly breaching age verification regulations in Texas.

According to Paxton, Pornhub infringed upon "HB 1181, a Texas statute mandating the implementation of reasonable age verification protocols to shield minors from exposure to explicit materials." Paxton emphasized the importance of upholding such laws, stating, "Texas has a right to shield its youth from the adverse impacts of pornographic content. I am committed to holding any entity answerable for flouting our age verification regulations designed to prevent minors from encountering harmful, explicit material online."

The lawsuit accuses Aylo of disseminating "sexually explicit content on the internet that is easily accessible and detrimental to minors in Texas," all without enforcing "adequate age verification mechanisms to confirm that viewers of their adult content are at least 18 years old."

Under the legal proceedings, Aylo faces potential civil fines "of up to $10,000 per day dating back to September 19, 2023," should the company be found guilty of violating Texas' age verification laws.

Journalist Arden Young, known for exposing Pornhub earlier this year through an undercover video revealing the platform's addictive nature, expressed concerns to The Post Millennial. Young asserted, "Pornhub and its parent company, Aylo, prioritize profits over safeguarding children from harmful content. Their own admissions indicate that complying with age verification laws results in significant traffic declines." Young further suggested that "Pornhub/Aylo would struggle to operate if they adhered to the laws they currently breach."
